Seen in his work for the Dior Homme collections, structured pieces with little distraction from sleek lines are seen from Kris Van Assche as a designer. For the designers namesake Menswear label those same aesthetics are applied. Strong, masculine & progressive the designs of the Van Assche collection are a updated take on the male silhouette, providing an unbreakable outline to male form with sharp tailoring & undeniable style. For the FW11 collection, Kris stays true to his style using techniques of slightly embedded plaids combines with dramatic coats, sweaters & sleek footwear. Dominating the collection palette was black, grey & slight injections of neutral beige. While some male consumers don't particularly favor the look of skinny jeans or a super slim physique, the KVA collections ease up off of those design concepts, allowing men's style to flow fluidly through relaxed fits that spare no detail of clean design. Revealed on the runways of Men's Paris Fashion Week, layers upon layers outfitted each of the models appropriately for the fall/winter season. As a trend forecast for the winter season to arrive later this year, not much variation is seen in the collection as more consumers have leaned more towards classic style during the recession, which required many consumers to rethink splurge purchases.

Of Belgian nationality, Van Assche has studied fashion in Antwerp at the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts from 1994-1998. After graduating, Van Assche was afforded the opportunity to assist Hedi Slimane at the house of Yves Saint Laurent, whcih ultimately lead him to his current position at the house of Christian Dior for their Menswear collection. Along his fashion journey, the Van Assche signature has developed greatly & stands out easily among the rest of the Menswear design collective in New York, Paris, London & Milan.
